Art inspired in giving

The Mercy Foundation of Texas carried out the event “The art of helping others”

The traditional Donation Expo, organized by the Hogar de la Misericordia since several years ago, was inspiration for the event “The art of helping others” of the Mercy Foundation of Texas last may 17.

The exposition, carried out in the city of Houston, presented art work of prominent Latin American artists from different countries such as Mexico, Nicaragua and Argentina.

Besides being a display cabinet to the world of Latin American art, the event gave the marvelous opportunity to the assistants of winning, through a raffle carried out at a dinner gala, the art work of this artists with the intention of benefiting the Mercy Foundation of Texas, as well as our Institution.

Among the outstanding artists from Monterrey at the event were Rubén Gutiérrez, who participated with a painting he described as a “metaphor of the presence and absence of reflections of our idea of reality and conscience”; and Oscar Solís Quesada, who has been through the years a big support for the Hogar de la Misericordia.

The successful event leaves us in expectation for the next and serves our institution as a reaffirmation of our daily struggle and eternal hope.

“In helping others we shall help ourselves,
for whatever good we give out completes the circle
and comes back to us”.
